The man behind the Smile
Beautiful Smiles Denture Clinic was established by Nicholas Rush in 2007 with a vision to provide patients with the most natural looking dentures available today.
Nicholas explains:
“During many years running a dental laboratory servicing the profession it became apparent that the cause of denture construction problems was the breakdown of communication between Dental surgeon and laboratory, this coupled with the fact that the technician constructing the dentures never actually saw the patient who would eventually wear them .”
Nicholas started his career in dentistry in 1983, studying and completing the BTEC Diploma in Dental Technology in 1987. In 2004 Nicholas began further study through the George Brown College Toronto International Clinical Dental Technicians programme. This enabled him to be able eventually to undertake all clinical stages of denture provision. This seemed a natural progression to enhance his technical excellence in the laboratory. In 2007 Nicholas successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons (England) Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology which enabled him to become one of the first group registered with the General Dental Council. Nicholas is currently the only qualified and registered CDT working in Cornwall.
“An individual experience”
Nicholas explains:
“Often patients have had a poor experience with denture provision in the past. It was my vision to provide an unhurried consultation appointment where the patient could discuss their concerns and future ideals regarding their dentures.”
“Few patients realise that much better quality life-like teeth are available which can be further personally individually characterised. Coupled to this is the natural colour tone we are able to individually incorporate to the denture base giving a most natural gum appearance. The new acrylics we use today can most often ensure a much more retentive fit of the denture”.
